We love osticket and want to leave a feature request:

Task Templates:
If you get a ticket like "new employee", you can choose a new template which creates a couple of tasks like:

  • create AD User
  • create DB User
  • buy new PC
  • set permissions

A similar template is "employee left company"

  • delete all accounts
  • confiscate laptop
  • confiscate smartphone

Recurring tasks:
You can add time information to a task, so the task pops up like every day, every week, or the 1st every month:
For example:

  • check backups
  • check apc batterie
  • empty trash 😉

Task priority:
Example:
We put all our internal tasks into osticket even the long therm tasks like "find a new antivir-software".
My boss want to set internal priorities for all his staff. So we need a extra dropdown like that one in the ticket section.
Maybe you can create your own content on that prio list?

This feature is needed to be able to run a small to medium operation.
I have 20 regularly scheduled tasks that are currently tracked using MS Outlook.
This means I have to check two places for things that I am supposed to be doing.
It also means I cannot delegate the task without having to spend more time...

Tasks could be similar to PMS (Planned Maintenance System) used in the military.
A list of steps are created and a time cycle assigned for basic periodic maintenance.
The difference here is the possibility of useful notes being appended to the Task to make it ever improving.

I am highly in favor of the Tasks concept being expanded.

Our operation would benefit from having sets of predetermined tasks associated to a Help Topic.

For example, if the help topic is "Request Product Return", we would like to add a batch of 3 Tasks straightaway:

  1. Send return shipping label
  2. Inspect returned item
  3. Issue refund.

Alternatively, I would like to have a different Ticket Status list for each Department... so that I can map the workflow directly into the statuses... e.g.
10 - Open
50 - Sending Return Shipping Label
51 - Inspecting returned item
52 - Issuing refund"

This feature missing from osticket and spiceworks "cloud" is the only thing currently preventing us to possibly switching to either. It is extremely useful. What do others use for keeping track of common sets tasks to complete?

    larosejm I have a script to add common Starter/Leavers tasks directly to the database independently of osTicket.

    It is on my todo to look into the possibility of making it a plugin instead though.
