  • Roger... download the OSTicket file to my Windows 7 Home Edition desktop. Extracted the file to a rename directory named OSTicket located at the root of my C:\ drive (see OSTicket ost-config.jpg attached) .

I have IIS 7.5 and created the OSTicket website using the helpdesk (upload) directory as the public directory. I am running MySQL Server 5.5 with a new database name OSTicket and PHP 5.3.6 loaded and operational. I have a test geeklog (php) website running on this computer without issue.

I open a web browser to OSTicket/setup/install.php and instantly get:

(see OSTicket Error 1.jpg attached). Also tried as suggested to rename back to ost-config.sample with same result. I've rebooted and refreshed all with same result. Meanwhile my other PHP website (Geeklog) works without issue.

After all of the effort above, it magically began to install @#$#@!@!! Unbelievable!

  • Are you getting any errors in the error logs or during installation?

    Is the directory writable?

Please describe your setup (include host if not self hosted).

  • rename it back to ost-config.sample.php. The installer will take care of renaming/creating the ost-config.php file for you.

I did as suggested with no changes. I downloaded a fresh copy and attempted to install with same results. I ensured that the file had permissions to read/write, correct paths, renamed the ost-config.sample to ost-config.php and back again with no change.

I have no clue what is going on?

  • After renaming that file to become "ost-config.php", have you tried to refresh/reload the installation page? This should fix your problem, and you should continue the installation process.

    Sincerely,

    Masino Sinaga

I took a copy of the the config file and put it in every directory to ensure there were no incorrect paths but same result.

  • During the install I got the message in the subject line above. Honestly it's not bloody missing, I renamed the original file to ost-config.php and change to read write permissions to full. Running Windows 7 Home Edition.

Can it be a paths issue?

  • It is apparantly a path issue but don't know where to resolve it... I'm running on Windows 2003 Server... PHP is installed in the root of C:

  • I can't seem to get past first base... tried to install and got this... installation stopped and I can't seem to figure out what the issue is...:

    Warning: session_start() : open(C:\DOCUME~1\congleal\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session\sess_n3q2md24nau319tc78peqetl45, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in C:\Pyramid Solutions\helpdesk\setup\setup.inc.php on line 26

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  • I've been away from OSTicket but it appears that it's looking for a non-existent file to write to... I'm an logged in as Admin on a new machine and the user "congleal" doesn't exist on this device. Is there a config setting that needs to be altered or do I have to create a file for the Temp directory?..

PHP Warning: session_start() : open(C:\DOCUME~1\congleal\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session\sess_5b7jq3nt5rd158d1drm9gfbun5, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in C:\wcbiz\public_html\hcl\class\include.php on line 86 PHP Warning: Unknown: open(C:\DOCUME~1\congleal\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session\sess_5b7jq3nt5rd158d1drm9gfbun5, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (C:\DOCUME~1\congleal\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session) in Unknown on line 0

  • I've just installed an older version of OSTicket, but when I tested the process of opening up a ticket I get the following error:

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in C:\wcbiz\public_html\hcl\modules\osTicket\class.ticket.php on line 200

Any help would be most appreciated....

    Thanks
