The agent with alerts unchecked are still receiving alerts for tickets from that team. For example: responses from the customers.

I would like to maintain them in the team without overwhelm them with alerts.

You are running an old version, first thing I would do is upgrade to current and re-test as you could be experiencing an old bug that has already been taken care of.

note: I do not actually use teams and have no means to test this at this time.

on the download page I can see that 1.14.6 require php 7.2, is it true or it will works on 5.6 too?

My understanding is that 1.14 is the last version that supports 5.6. That could have changed in 1.14.6 but I never ran 1.14.5 or 6. I switched to 1.15 when it came out.
