I am having trouble with fetching my email from my gmail account. I am using IMAP+SSL. I don't know where the issue is since I can send outgoing mails.

Also see: https://docs.osticket.com/en/latest/Getting%20Started/POP3-IMAP%20Settings.html and make sure that you setup your cron job / task scheduler to run cron.php on a schedule.
