Using Microsoft 365 POP3/IMAP Not working ERROR!

IMAP:

Port: 587
Encryption method: STARTTLS

ntozier I just upgraded to 1.12 and everything went smooth now I am getting this error:

Failed to connect to smtp.office365.com:587 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Connection refused (code: -1, response: )]

Any idea what this could be?

Connection refused generally means just that, the connection was refused. Does the user have pop/imap turned on?

ntozier Yes pop and IMAP have been enabled through admin panel

Here are my settings. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. It has to be either
something to do with your environment [maybe a firewall? maybe you need a transport rule?] or your account.

I guess since I am using a shared server with Godaddy they don't enable port 587 for SMTP they only enable 465 and 25 but since Microsoft outlook 365 only uses 587 I cannot get it to work. Any idea on a workaround or do I have to get an expensive VPS?

@ramirolpz55 I think that your going to need to talk to your host (GoDaddy) about this. If they are blocking a port on the webserver to O365 that would be an issue that affects more than just you.

update: @Marcius also uses GoDaddy and found a work around here:

I do not use godaddy and I had problems with smtp, not imap/pop. There was an issue where I was not able to enabler smtp authentication, I will post a workaround tomorrom, since I do not have access to the helpdesk at this moment.

ramirolpz55 Well basically what I did was set outgoing mails to use default mail function of php

Then if you have access to php.ini file you can configure sendmail option which will forward mail function to sendmail that has smtp in it, then configure sendmail configuration file and setup your smtp properties

And then just disable smtp on the email in osticket settings so it uses that default mailing system which you have just configured outside of ostickets
