Dear Sir,While creating a Department i could see a option type .i.e. either public or private(Internal).In the description of private option i could see the explanation as "Select Private if you wish to mask assignments to this Department in the Client Portal. Additionally, when labeled as Private, the Department Signature will not be displayed in email replies. "  So, i have marked some of my departments as private as i dont want to display the departments in the Drop down of client portal.But even though i have set the departments to private still i am getting those departments in the drop down.In this regard, i kindly request you to help us on the making some of the departments are invisible at Client portal department assigning.I also kindly request you to let us know if there is any other way to make only some of the important departments only can be visible in client portal.Also it would be grateful if we can make only some of the agents/departments only visible in the Dropdown lists of Client portal.Please find our Osticket version details below:osTicket Version v1.10 (901e5ea)Web Server Software Apache/2.4.25 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.2j PHP/7.0.18MySQL Version 10.1.22PHP Version 7.0.18Please provide some help on this.

Clients do not assign tickets to departments... Agents can.  Help Topics Can... but Users cannot not.  So I really have no idea what you mean.

Dear ntozier,I Have defined the Help topic in such a way that the drop down will display all the departments/Agents.And in the Ticket filters i have configured that depending on the Agent name or Department provided in the Dropdown the ticket will be assigned to a particular department/Agent.But how ever, i dont' want to display some of the departments in the drop down, for which i have found one of the option to set the department as private so that the department will be masked in the client portal while assigning.I Kindly request you to check the assigned screenshots for your reference.

You didn't add any screen shots.It sounds to me like you are using Help Topics in a way that help topics weren't really intended to be used.

Sir i am unable to add the screenshots as i am not getting any attachments button.I am getting the Drop down of Dynamic fields by using the Helptopic.And in the content available in the Help topic i am trying to route the tickets to departments or Staff/Agents.But as shown above i am not getting the functionality intended to setting the department as private.Please let us know if i misunderstood the functionality of the department type option.

Use the insert image on the tool bar.blankhttp://tmib.net/files/images/ost-forums/92542.pngI find it likely that if you are using multi level Help topics that the top level is over riding the child public private settings.  But with no images.You would be better served not putting your departments and agents in Help topics and actually making Help Topics.
