Before the ticket reaches the due date, scheduled under the SLA, it is marked as expired. This is causing problems with time ticket controls.

Due Date and SLA are two decidedly different things.Due date will not over ride the SLA. If a ticket becomes due, due to SLA before the due date then it will be over due and vice versa. Which ever hits first.
