They would make translations possible. And judjing from their descriptions jsgettext would be the better choice. But, we don't know if ther will be compatibility issues with the .mo we already use. Php_gettext is the same just for php. And you yourself had issues with it. Plus, since javascript is clientside, there may be issues with some of all the different browsers out there. And it requieres downloading the .mo since its clientside, for every site call. And if we make a different .mo just for the javascript translations, we would have two files that have to be maintenanced constantly, per language. All that trouble for less than 10 texts, all of them on scp side.

I don't think thats worth it.

It is already being translated. Check if there is a translation for the string '%d tickets assigned to you! Do something about it' in your .mo.

Modding is still possible. How hard the modding will be depends on the mod. For instance. You can't use zipped modpackages like i provide them, where you have to overwrite whole files. They rely on a unmodded osticket.

My translation tutorial (here) should give you the information you need. Otherwise you'll have to work with diffs of the new .po and the old .po and find the differences yourself.

Well, either you use poedit, as described in the tutorial, to scan for diffs and add them automatically. Or you do it by hand.

I have read your guide but i get some errors when creating the catalogue, now if i just grab your .po file and start editing it (i am willing to translate to spanish). and save it on the corresponding es-ES folder this will work if i change the lang code??

Also i have a fresh install of osticket 1.7 to make this work can i just replace the files or do i have to reinstall with your version?

What kind of errors did you get? I would prefer a fresh catalogue, but you can grab the de_de .po. I don't know if that will cause any problems later when you compile it to a .mo. The langcode of the .po should be changed to es-ES as you said. But yes, in theory it should work.

Replacing the files of your osticket with those in my .zip should be all you have to do. Maybe adjust the include/gettext-conf.php if you want to use the gettext extension instead of the php gettext interpreter.

Hello i was setting the wrong path to the install, now i got that working.

Also i have replaced the files, of my install and it seems to be ok, ive translated a few lines to "test" but i cant see them, (replaced the texts in the homepage).

Now i do have gettext in my linux server's php.ini, so extension is there.

I have changed this line:

$language='es-ES';

Since i just need spanish, restarted apache and still in english.

In my locale/es-ES/LC_MESSAGES folder i have 2 files messages.po and messages.mo

Am i missing something? thank you for your help.

Since you use a linux server you probably need to add an encoding instruction for gettext. That is, if you use the extension. The gettext-conf has the instructions on how to get the encoding in its comments.

If you still have $use_php_gettext on true there is something else wrong. Do a test with testlang.php. Check if the phpuser has reading permissions on the messages.mo.

Yeah i am using poedit now, i will try to reinstall with the multilang support maybe thats why i can't make it work.

About your translation i can help you!, i havent started (translated a few lines to see if it works) since i didnt make it to work, i can begin from what you have, if thats ok. PM me for further coordination.
