but not sure I understand what the solution was based on it. We have microsoft exchange as our mail server

So your running osTicket 1.6 and its not working with IMAP to Exchange?Have you turned on IMAP on your exchange server?Have you given your user(s) permission to connect to Exchange via IMAP?Have you made the Receive Connectors to allow connections from your webserver?Please help us to help you by reading and following the posting
