G'day guys (at osTicket)Just requesting an update to the email setting page - http://osticket.com/wiki/Email_settingsAlthough for whatever reason it wasn't working before, now Gmail accepts IMAP connection. These are my settings that I believe are relevant:Fetching Email via IMAP or POPHostname: imap.gmail.comPort number: 993Mailbox Protocal: IMAP + SSLFetch Frequency: 1 minutesEmails Per Fetch: 30 emailsFetched Emails: Move to folder - Retrieved (THIS IS MY SETTING CHOOSE YOUR OWN)Sending Email via SMTPHostname: smtp.gmail.comPort number: 587Authentication Required: YesA couple points to note:1) You MUST enabled IMAP support on your email address associated with GMAIL or GAPPS2) I created the folder Retrieved BEFORE I attempted to connect, don't know if the PHP would create it if not found3) I don't have SSL enabled on my SMTP because no matter what I did what is listed doesn't work. ssl://smtp.gmail.com port 465 or 587 always comes up with this error:Failed to connect to ssl://smtp.gmail.com

I'm not sure what your actually asking as you seem to answer your own question(s).

G'day @[deleted],My point, especially because this is the "suggestions and feedback" section of the forum, is that the Email settings page - http://osticket.com/wiki/Email_settings - should be updated to reflect osTicket's ability to connect through to Gmail or GAPPS without using POP3 connection. As for the points of note I mentioned they could be used to start another topic true.

1. It's a wiki, you could create an account and make that change yourself.  I've taken care of it though.2. The documentation does not appear to say that you can't use IMAP...?  But the example it gives uses POP so I can see why you might be confused.

@[deleted] are you a spammer or just a thread hijacker with something that has nothing to do with the thread?

@[deleted] - thanks for the heads up in regards to the Wiki, should have seen that. I don't see how I am confused, I was just alerting you to the fact that the Wiki didn't HAVE any reference to IMAP support in a Gmail/GAPPS situation. To be honest all I expected you to say was this:"Thanks mate, I'll add it to the Wiki. For future reference however you can add it yourself if you like. Here is a link to sign up and contribute - http://blahblah.com/signupforwiki"

I personally always considered it an example.  Since POP and IMAP support have been in osTicket since before 1.6. (When i started using it).  Also the documentation generally talks about POP and IMAP at the same time earlier. /shrug
