We did an upgrade from v1.6ST to v1.9.2. The system has been working really well and no real issues. Recently, we see an issue where users are trying to login on the front end to see ticket status. They see the text "Sign In to access all your tickets." and try to login but are unable to log them in because they don't have accounts. Then they go to Forget Password but since they don't technically have account they get the error "Unable to verify username". I don't see any button for Creating new account (for the users). Is this something we need to enable so they can create accounts? Also, if users have submitted tickets in past is there anyway to create account so all those are linked together and user can see that history?

This might have been added in 1.9.3 (I no longer have a 1.9.2 to test on) but have you gone to ADmin panel -> Settings -> Access and set Registration Method to Public?

I found the option you referred to in the Admin Panel -> Settings->Access then set the Registration method to Public. This adds the options for "register for an account". However, once I complete the form and follow the verification link in the email it takes me to the homepage and leaves the account marked as "Locked (Pending Activation)"- checked the User Directory to see this. It seems the verification link is not working or the user is somehow stuck with Locked Account. When users tries to login they get error message "Account confirmation required". Anything else I can do to try to make this work? Thanks in advance

The account is locked until they click on the verification link in their email. If something isn't working with it you will need to provide us with an actual error (such as from your php error log, or Apache error log). I understand that some people are having a similar problem with the 1.9.4rc.  I believe that there is a issue report on github and another thread here on the forums about it.
