So heres the issue, we downloaded the ldap and the httpd pass through. We have Ldap working fine, it is pulling in the tickets from the domain address set up. We had the problem with the body not showing up but with on of the other forum posts we were able to fix that on by editing the script. So looking for some Idea's on what I need to do. Here is what we have checked and system info is below that. Maybe the first part wasnt clear, We can not log in with our AD credits each person has to register. The point of connecting AD to a program is so you dont have to register it pulls the credits from your AD. So with the Information above maybe someone can help and explain why the site is not using AD credits to Log in to ostickets.Looking for some help here.

There is no import from... you stil need to create an account for staff.  Ad then give the account permission to auth against AD.

So what you are saying so I understand this correctly is that there is no way for a person in our company to just log in to the system with thier AD creds? Each person will have to register and then recieve the activation link to verify. Then as a admin I will have to go in give each person privleges.

for the sake of brevity.  yes.

If you want auto registration I suggest using the auth pass thru plugin combined with the with ldap auth plugin as SSO / auto registration solution ;) Just look a bit around in the forum (or at my posts) and you will find several how-tos for doing it with apache or IIS.

I have both plug-ins downloaded and installed. I was just trying to see if AD creds would work with osticket for logging in instead of registering and then having to remember another password. So we are thinking of going with a different software... ntozier... summed it up for me "for the sake of brevity" Ldap authentication is supposed to work with AD and I need it to work that way.

LDAP does work with AD, when a user attempts to log into the system for the first time it has them go through the registration process to create a db item regarding that user. It then logs in as a normal AD user after that. The only issue is that you can't just import AD into the system without utilizing csv... Unless that has changed?

There are some ticketing systems that work with LDAP that allow you to use your AD credits to log into the ticketing system.

AD is essentially LDAP.  More specifically its Microsoft's implementation of the LDAP protocol with some custom extensions. osTicket does allow people to use their LDAP/AD credentials to log into the ticketing system.  That's sorta the entire point.
