Hello Guys,

I'm new to osTicket and by far it helped our operation a lot. :)

One issue I am facing is that, when user or staff post a reply to the ticket using IE, there is no line breaks (it is posted in one continous line). But when we use Firefox, the actual line format is shown (with line breaks).

osTicket Version

v1.8.1.2

Server Software

Microsoft-IIS/7.5

PHP Version

5.3.28

MySQL Version

5.6.16

Enable Rich text formatting is enabled.  (Ticket setting)

If I disable the Rich Text Formatting, IE line breaks appear fine, but of course the email notifications that will be received will be a plain text.

Anyone experienced this issue?

Thanks!

So ie8 was release in like what 2008... maybe its time to tell people to upgrade?  I know thats not what you want to hear, but....Have you had people try using IEs compatibility mode?Maybe its related to:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19538864/jquery-html-remove-line-break-on-ie-8Sorry I can't think of anything else off the top of my head...

Hi ntozier,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, IE8 is still the only supported corporate browser we have for IE. (yeah it PITA)

I already did try to view in compatibility mode to no avail. The above article pertains to the coding of the line breaks, but I already have <br />.

So when I try to edit the autoresponse in the admin settings using:

IE: it will show the actual HTML

Firefox: it will show the rendered view of the HTML coding. Easier for me to see the way it will look like. And on that same page, I am able to see a button the switch from HTML and back (</> button). For some reason I don't see that in IE.

Been trying to search for any related issues on this one. If you find any more related articles, kindly share to me.

Thanks again!

@PookemasteruSI'll point this thread out to the Devs and maybe one of them will be able to point you to a solution.

Much appreciated sir! :)

Hope they can point me to the right direction. Other than that, osTicket is working perfectly!
