Hi i wonder if someone could point me in the right direction, we had a developer set up and host our OS Ticket database roughly a year ago, i have not been able to get in touch with him for a month or 2 and have a few issues.i am a bit concerned!! i need to know if it possible to extract the database into a new installation? i am worried that the hosting will expire, the system will stop and we will lose the ticket history already created (roughly 500 - 600 in the past year)Thanks in advance

Yes, that's possible... assuming that you have access to the database server / host.  Do you have FTP or SSH access to the host?  or CPanel? etc

Hi, thank you for the reply.....I don't have any access....all I have is the staff login and admin pages....is there anyway of finding out where it's hosted from then URL?

Thanks.

You can probably find out where it's hosted by doing an nslookup on your domain, and then hitting ws.arin.net and looking up the IP address.  But I'm not sure that it will do you much good sadly.

Hi,Thanks for your advice, it seems its being hosted in the states, not sure what i can do about it though.Darren.

Hi, Is there any way to export the tickets into excel or csv so that i can at least have a copy of them for future reference? Thanks

The bottom of the Open (and Closed) ticket lists has an export feature.  Its not every single field but might have enough for you.

Thank you very much for your help.

Very welcome. :)  Should I mark this thread as closed (aka resolved)?

Hi,i cant see the export option, all i have is overdue, close delete or reopen, delete Thanks

Hi,I do not have the export option on mine, (v1.6 ST) i can only assume this was added in a newer version.is there any way to upgrade the system without access to the hosted database? Thanks

My brain is telling me that it was present in 1.6ST... but you might be right.  If you do not have access to the files on the server and/or the DB there is really no way to upgrade or migrate it.
