preview faq in staff panel shows unrecognizable character if I am using Chinese.

I've added one line to solve this problem

edit file -> ../faq/include/staff/faq_admin_ui.inc.php (line 357)

add

$fInfo->answer = ''.$fInfo->answer;

before

$document->loadHTML($fInfo->answer);

Path issue

Thanks for the MOD, i am slowly building my system to suit my school i work for.

Anyway i have one issue, Paths,

In the config file under server domain as below

define('SERVER_DOMAIN','helpdesk.jchs.school.nz');

this work fine under client section but under admin the links point to http://serverdomain/faq_admin.php(http://serverdomain/faq_admin.php)

If i change it like,

define('SERVER_DOMAIN','helpdesk.jchs.school.nz/scp');

then in admin it works fine and in the client it does not.

Any help appreciated.

great mod i like it but....

it would be greater if it gives some faq sugestion when an client is creating an ticket like hesk helpdesk does if you type the message information.

Has someone an mod for this?

All of a sudden cannot upload documents or imahes

Image or Document uploads:

In the past I could upload images and documents but all of a sudden I cannot do that anymore - the privileges is writable - please assist

Error when upgrading from 1.0ST to 1.1ST

After upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1 ST I get the error message exerytime I try to post a new faq.

FAQ not showing up on external page

Hi, I have installed osFaq 1.1 on osTicket 1.6ST and everything seems to work fine except getting the FAQ's to show on the external page (index.php)!

It FAQ entry is shown in the menu (far right), but not on the middle of the page (Featured, Popular etc...).

The external FAQ is enabled in the settings and I have pasted the line of code into the index.php page.

The only mod I had added on this 1.6ST before osFaq is assignedTo16ST.zip which is working fine.

Cannot see any error messages in webserver logs, any ideás how to dig down the problem?

I have not used this mod, but generally if an error is happening you would see it in your php error log. You might checking there... or you can turn on error display in OST:

locate and edit the /main.inc.php

On about line 43 locate

#Don't display errors

ini_set('display_errors',0);

ini_set('display_startup_errors',0);

and change it to:

#Don't display errors

ini_set('display_errors',1);

ini_set('display_startup_errors',1);

Simply change the 1's back to 0's later once you are done.

Hi Cat,

There is a patch available to fix this. The bug was occurring in IE and Opera web browsers. The full downloads have also been updated with the new fix.

Trying to install on new install

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before. I have installed osTicket 1.6ST on my Win7 Pro domain computer and using WAMP (The latest version available this week).

osTicket has been working fine and still works fine, however i can not get osFAQ to install. I have followed the instructions i believe to the letter.

When i go to mysite/support/faq/setup i get the "Manual Path Setup" page and the images appear to say it has the right directory and web root path, however when i click on the button to continue installing it does nothing. I have tried click the button and leaving it for 30secs, a couple of minutes, but still doesn't do anything.

Any suggestions?

All sorted now

Ive sorted it now. I did a fresh install of osTicket and then implemented this. All works fine now. Will try building the site up again with the other MODs that i had implemented.

Found it. If anyone else needs to increase the character count of titles in the recent, popular, or newest boxes, just Edit the "OSFDB_MAX_TXT_LENGTH" table in "tik_faq_settings" within Mysql.

is there a way to search just within a category and not the whole database?
