I am trying to build a droid app for osTicket and am facing some hurdles regarding the api.
The API is incomplete (only offers ticket creation). I was wondering if there were any plans to extend this functionality in the near future or should I fork and add the extended features myself (if I'm allowed to do so)?
I would also like to know if there's any other alternative that could help. For the basics, I want to provide ticket creation/deletion, push notifications, etc.
There are not plans to add feature more features the the 1.6ST API. 1.6ST is a very old version.
That being said 1.7.x does have plans of revamping the API. I would say that you will see the new API by version 1.7.10.
The project is on github so you can feel free to branch it, submit your changes, and submit pull requests. The Devs may decide that your changes should be the ones put in place.

Well we're on 1.7.1.x now. So maybe 1.7.10.x will be released some time in late 2014? There is no set release date for it at this time.
