Installed the latest version of osTicket. In settings, I selected to enable Two Factor Authentication. It locked me out of the admin account and pushed me to the agent side. I clicked on the link to setup Two Factor Authentication in my profile but nothing came up.
Two Factor Authentication v1.17RC3 Problem
Have you tried to set it up first before enabling it? Did it successfully save your settings?
I had the same issue when I upgraded to 1.17 RC. I end up creating a new admin agent in backend DB w/o 2FA to regain access to my OsTicket.

I follow this thread because i noticed 2FA plugin is not working in 1.17.RC4 (i didn't test this feature in RC3)
The plugin seems to correctly install in the Manage - Plugins panel, though then nothing changes in the Default 2FA menu in the User profile: only the Email option appears and not the Authenticator option ...
Tried to uninstall and reinstall the plugin but nothing changes.
Using Apache2 + php8.0
Thanks
You need to make sure the below changes are applied and that you download/install the latest 2FA plugin from our website:
Cheers.
Thank you Kevin ...
I checked out the changes you pointed at ... and they already were in our installation.
I've also downloaded again the 2FA plugin, uninstalled and reinstalled it, but it still reports the same version (0.3) ... so I guess we've already had the last version.
Nonetheless, it seems the situation has not changed.
In the User Profile page I still can select and configure only the Email verification option.
Thanks for your help
Cheers
Hello Kevin, do you have some more suggestions or check/tests to do trying to solve the issue above?
Thank you again
Hi Kevin,
Do you have an update on this issue? We just upgraded to 1.17 and the 2FA option is not available.
Kind regards,
Kevin
Did you download and install the latest version of the 2FA plugin from our website?
Cheers.
KevinTheJedi I downloaded the the 2FA plugin from osticket. I hv the same issue where only email option is available. Using:
osTicket Version v1.17 (1d8b790) β Up to date
Web Server Software Apache/2.4.51 (AlmaLinux)
MySQL Version 10.5.16
PHP Version 8.0.13
KevinTheJedi What do i need to put into the CONFIG tab?
What it states: an Issuer. Just a name that will show up in the app when Agents scan the QR code.
Cheers.
KevinTheJedi Thanks. Works like a charm! However, the documentation did not list the necessary step on how to install the plugins, creating a instance and the config!
Because itβs brand new with v1.17 and we are still working on updating the docs. You can even see that the Upgrade Overview is still for 1.16.x.
Cheers.
So i have a similar issue to this but for mine 2fa does not show up under agent profile to select. I download and installed the latest osticket today, then downloaded and installed Two Factor Authenticator plug from osticket site today, I enabled and activated and configure the instance and it shows enabled for both plugin and instance but it does not show option under the agents profile.

Yes plugin is enabled , and shows active in status - instance shows enabled as well. I restarted appache and the entire server to make sure the interface was refreshed,
