bcombs18 I have two questions

  1. How do you fix the missing app.php problem? (My temp fix is to create the app.php and instead write a redirect back to /scp/dispatcher.php/inventory/asset/handle)

  2. Does your plugin work with submitting tickets? (for example if a user submits a ticket for toner it effects the inventory when the ticket is closed)

    1. The missing app.php problem is a result of that file missing from osTicket and not the plugin itself. I have created a couple of files that fix that with my interpretation of what that file is meant to do. I can upload that to GitHub here shortly for your use.

    2. The plugin currently does not support any interaction with tickets. This is a feature that is planned, but I cannot speak to when it will be implemented. I've been working through some refactors to make it easier to add features in the future recently which has been taking up more time than expected.

    EDIT: The fix for the apps.php error is now available from the osTicket-Inventory-Manager GitHub. Find it under the "extras" directory. The steps to get it installed are in the "INSTALLATION_STEPS.md" file.

      But I have a question about the required rights for agents which are working with inventory.
      Is it possibe to add assets without providing adminitrator rights to Agent?
      It's very strange to add permissions to manage osticket for L1 support.

        Thanks for sharing. Looks great. We currently use a 'Hardware List' which has custom fields similar to the asset fields you have. However we have these against the organisation instead of the user. Is it possible to have the assets assigned to the organisation or does it require to be a user?

        The way we work it is an organisation is a business or branch, which has one or more users who can report problems with these assets, the latter of which belong to the 'organisation'.

          Fabrizio09 Yes, I do plan to update the plugin for 1.17.x. However, there were some changes to made to the way plugins work in 1.17 which are preventing plugin installation/removal from functioning properly. I am waiting until the next release to see what changes will be made so I can restore that functionality.

            AVP I did not realize that adding assets was not available to non-admin agents. I will take a look at this and fix it. Thanks for pointing that out!

              m-law Currently, assets need to be assigned to users. I believe it would be possible to add the ability to assign to an organization. I'm planning a re-work for asset assignments in the future so I will be sure to add this to the list of things that need to be done for that re-work. Thanks for the idea!

                bcombs18 This would be amazing as an app (agent) to roll out with a .msi package from the imaging process. The agent would monitor for the ip address, serial #, computer name and las time the computer was online. This could see computers outside of the LAN as well.

                    jiggs This is a great idea! I have considered creating something like this. Additionally, I've done some research into being able to pull info from a domain/Azure AD which is another possibility. There's some other functionality I'd like to build into the plugin before rolling out a feature like this, but this is definitely something I'd love to add to the plugin in the future.

                        v1.17.2 is stable for plugins. You can take a look at the Audit log plugin to see how it registers, etc. We had to back-port that functionality as Audit still uses the old way as well (with some minor tweaks). We will be redoing this plugin in the future but not any time soon so the back-ported functionality should remain the same for a good bit.

                              This is a very useful plugin, but what happened with me is that I could not import the data from inventory. The pop-up message won't appear; only a small white box is shown. Is there anything to do with this problem?
