I think that it would depend on if you have file level access to your install on your Device. I'm not that familiar with QNAP or their devices and do not know if they made large changes to the files in the base distro that we put out. This would really be a good question for QNAP. If you do have file level access and they have not made a lot of customizations you could likely upgrade the app yourself.
