Get Department ID for specific Topic

Hello,
First these are info about my osTicket:
osTicket Version v1.14.1 (f1e9e88)
Web Server Software Apache/2.4.43 (Win64) OpenSSL/1.1.1f PHP/7.4.4
MySQL Version 10.4.11
PHP Version 7.4.4

Question:
In file "\include\client\open.inc.php" right befor List of "Help Topic", I need to get Department ID for each help topic.
Can anyone tell me how can i do it?

You would have to look up the Help Topic in ost_help_topic. SQL to do that would be something like:
SELECT dept_id FROM ost_help_topic WHERE topic='Your Help Topic';

Of course since the field is generated on the fly you would probably be better off modifying how it is generated to also pull that information at the same time.

Thanks for replay ntozier, I'm looking for an easy method to get the dept for each help topic, if it is possible.

In file "\include\class.topic.php" there is a non static function "getDept()" is it for getting the Department of the Topic, and how can i call it in file "\include\client\open.inc.php"
