Send mail by SMTPS error

I try to use SMTPS to send mail but i receive this error:

Failed to connect to smtps.aruba.it:465 [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: -1, response: )]

This is my configuration:

I open a ticket to the host, that reply:

the smtp server settings visible in the attached image refer to a configuration that requires active SSL encryption.
Alternatively, you can set the domain's SMTP server (without SSL), by entering the following parameters:
smtp.yourdomain.it
with user authentication (email in full) and password
door: 25

Why there is not the possibility, like IMAP, to have a drop down menù to select the protocol to use?

The error is "Invalid response code received from server". This error seems to be common if you are either running a really old version of PHP, and with PHP 7.4.

Because there is only one protocol? SMTP. How you need to connect via SMTP is dictated by Port #, so a drop down is not needed.

Yes, there is only one SMTP protocol, but to use different type of connection, on your docs "Getting Started/Email Settings.html", i've to write ssl: or tsl: before SMTP url if i need to send mail from Gmail.

Under Admin panel -> Emails -> Emails -> Sending email via SMTP For most people, enter either ssl://smtp.gmail.com with port 465 or tls://smtp.gmail.com with port 587.

Is no better to insert a drop down menù for common users that don't know that they have to write "ssl:" or "tsl:" before smtp url?
For example a menu that contain:

SMTP
SMTP + SSL
SMTP + TSL

On the IMAP drop down menù, i find:

IMAP and
IMAP + SSL,
but, also IMAP is only one protocol, I'm wrong?
