How to get rid of these ridiculous (Gravatar) avatars

I find the OSTicket avatars simply embarrassing and unworthy of a serious support ticket system. My customers appear as donkeys, pigs or other unidentifiable mythical creatures. This is an absolute NoGo!

Is it really possible that you can only embed avatars from gravatar.com but not upload your own?

I could create an avatar for myself at gravatar.com. But then I still have the problem that all customers are assigned strange animal symbols.

So really... I haven't the foggiest idea what you are talking about when you say:

This default (above) is overridden if and only if the email address has a Gravatar account setup and icon for their email address. see: gravatar.com or if you or another admin changed one or more of the following settings from default:

Admin panel -> Settings -> System the Show Avatars setting.
Admin panel -> Settings -> Agents the Avatar Source setting.
Admin panel -> Settings -> Users the Avatar Source setting.

Admin panel -> Settings -> System the Show Avatars setting: is set
Admin panel -> Settings -> Agents the Avatar Source setting: is set to «Gravatar / Mystery Man»
Admin panel -> Settings -> Users the Avatar Source setting: was set to «Oscar's A Team»
Now I changed Admin panel -> Settings -> Users the Avatar Source setting to «Gravatar / Mystery Man» and all my customers are displayed with the default image in your answer.
So I find these settings a little bit tricky, but after all the issue is resolved. I hope you can imagine that I found it embarassing that my customers were displayed as such weird creatures.

I totally understand that.

You should know the fresh install default is the grey mystery man icon (that I showed you), so the reason that your instance had something different is because someone (an osTicket admin Agent) changed the default. 🙂
