Unexpected finally in class.export.php

Hi,

I currently receive on a regular basis errors from my cron daemon:

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'finally' (T_STRING), expecting catch (T_CATCH) in /var/www/vhosts/host.nl/sub.host.nl/include/class.export.php on line 961

I am currently running the following:

osTicket Version v1.14.1 (f1e9e88) — Up to date
Web Server Software Apache
MySQL Version 5.5.64
PHP Version 7.2.26
E-mails are send via SMTP.

Error logs do not reveal any more detailed information. But I do see this on regular interval related to cron time logs like these:
[Tue Dec 24 13:14:09.319480 2019] [fcgid:warn] [pid 6580:tid 140233680906368] mod_fcgid: process 20118 graceful kill fail, sending SIGKILL

Any ideas whether this is a bug or somethings else is going on?

Whats on line 961 of your /include/class.export.php?

mine reads fpassthru($fp);
This says that PHP should pass the $fp (file pointer) to function fpassthru.

Mine starts with finally (v1.14.1). Here a short excerpt:

Something must be wrong with your PHP installation as PHP shouldn't require a catch statement. You should be able to use just try{} finally{} without issues. I would suggest you research PHP documentation to see why your PHP setup requires a catch statement and address this.

We have found the issue! The problem was the old PHP version that is used on Linux Shell. Please check "php -v" in your installation. We had the Version 5.4 which was the reason.

Thank you for the tip! I'm helping someone who is in the same boat.

I didn't realize that a Linux Shell runs its own PHP version. May I ask how you upgraded it?

EDIT: the steps for this seem to be very specific to each distro, so I retract my question. We'll figure it out. But thanks for pointing us in the right direction.
