Hello,

So, I recently upgraded OSticket from v1.9.13 to 1.12.2. After the upgrade I noticed that OSTicket was not sending any emails to those outside our domain. The logs gave me several mailer errors after running the email diagnosis tool, all stating

"Unable to email via SMTP:smtp.mydomain.com:587 [emailaddress] Failed to set sender: emailaddress [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 550, response: bosauthsmtp14: Host 142.44.214.149: No unauthenticated relaying permitted)]

So, I went to check out the emails settings. Note, I did not change any of the settings after the upgrade but noticed the "Authentication Required" was set to no. I tried to set the "Authentication Required" to yes and was given the error "SMTP: STARTTLS failed (code: 220, response: TLS go ahead)"

My settings for the email are bellow, along with the error message I get when trying to set the "Require Authentication" to yes and attempt to save. I'm not really sure where to go from here as it was working before the upgrade and our SMTP is relaying fine on our other sites.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Do you have OpenSS: installed in PHP?

Hello,

Running on LAMP (Ubuntu 16.04, Apache2, Mysql, Php 7.1.30)

I do have the php openssl extension installed.

Can you upgrade to PHP 7.2 and see if that helps?
I'm wondering if there is a bug in 7.1.
