So - I'm back. Needed now to downgrade and found this:
https://forum.osticket.com/d/77522-backup-and-downgrade-process/3
Which - I'm having issues getting this done. I guess this is simpler on Linux but as I'm using shared hosting, I have to use the tools available to me. What I'm doing firstly is making a backup of the old ticket system on the old provider. Once that is done I'm going to upgrade and check if I still have the issue. If I don't have the issue......I'll guess that the old provider has less restrictions. And will then be at a crossroads for deciding how to proceed. The new provider/host is awesome with so many other things and features.
So here's how I did the backup/import/migrate.
- Export DB using MyPHPAdmin. Check the option to ZIP the file if it's over 50MB.
- Setup new OSTicket either through hosting automated task or manually.
- If using automated task, ensure the prefix for the files are the same (ost versus ostick for example).
- On setup completion, log in and save password.
- Go to MyPHPAdmin on new host.
- Open the database - scroll to the bottom - select all - DROP the data.
- Go to IMPORT.
- Specify the backup database that you made from the old provider.
- Optionally - you can upload the larger than 50MB file and ask the hosting provider to import it for you
- Log in with original credentials from old provider.
- Change username/passwords/mail settings/other settings as you see fit.
That was it for me. I'll probably do some more detailed instructions once I figure it out properly. Now if I could figure how to do the backup/restore from a newer OSTicket to an older OSTicket.....
EDIT
So........after doing the backup from the old host I did the upgrade. Things got a lot worse. HostGator is the old host BTW. Just so you know - in case there are issues with HostGator that are known. But now I get other errors.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'function' (T_FUNCTION), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or \ (T_NS_SEPARATOR) in /public_html/ticket/include/mpdf/vendor/myclabs/deep-copy/src/DeepCopy/deep_copy.php on line 5
And the menus are totally messed up. I can't access anything - if I don't have a direct URL to the ticket I can't see them. So..........since I have a backup I'm probably just going to abandon that.
I'm available to do tests of any sort if you want. Just let me know what you'd like me to change/modify or what you'd like me to do.
Next stop - trying to get the ticket data imported to the older version from the newer database.
*EDIT
Just as some added info. On the current attempt to import the database into the older version, I'm getting "The upgrader does NOT support upgrading from the current patch [00c949a623b82848baaf3480b51307e3]!"
*EDIT
So I have a migration question.
SQL should be standard I guess - so the database information should be fine. If this is so, v1.10.7 should be able to read a database created in v1.12.2 - right? So importing the database should work? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Importing the database for the same version works fine. So I have v1.10.7 running as a secondary ticket system - the historical data from the old tickets.
So - again - I'm open to options. Will probably setup back v1.12.2 without the printing option and see how it works.
Image above is what I get when I try to import database of v1.12.2 to v1.10.7.
