Can anyone tell how to make the ATTACHMENT Button appear in a new install that I have for my old version of 1.6x OsTickets?

I do not want to upgrade to a newer version, and since my system crashed, I lost my previous version that I had for years, and now that I have installed it back again, the only thing missing is the ATTACHMENT Button, can anyone help please?

I do not believe that you will receive an answer as no one runs 1.6 anymore. I hope that you do, but they can do so on the other thread.

Even if someone can tell me on version 1.70 since its alot similar, ANYONE?

Hello Ntozier,

Since I did not get an answer from anyone else in 1.6 support, I ve decided to upgrade to the latest version of 1.12 osticket. Can you tell me how I can upload my database backup that I have from my 1.6 version to this 1.12v please?

Is your backup an .sql file?
You would use the tools that you have at your disposal to restore the db to sql, install osTicket amd point it to the restored database and then log into osTicket and run the upgrader.

Yes, my backup file is a .sql file. Can you tell me where are the tools that you are mentioning to me, and where to point them, as well as where is the upgrader? Sorry I dont mean to make more work for you, I just want it to get it right.

rmichel The tools for restoring your SQL database depend entirely on your setup. It could be the mysql command line, importing the file via PHPMyAdmin, etc... Just whatever you would normally use in your system for restoring a backup.

With regards to the upgrader, just log in to the staff portal after restoring the database and it'll prompt you to run the upgrade utility automatically.
