Hello,
I'm trying to add an entry for MySQL Connector/ODBC Data Source Configuration and I'm getting "Connection Failed [MySQL]ODBC 8.09a) Driver] Can't connect to MySQL server on 'osticket.xxxx.edu'(10060).

I'm trying to use osTickets with Tableau and I need to set up an ODBC connection. I downloaded MySQL ODBC 8.0 ANSI and Unicode Driver. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

From the System DSN tab > Add > Click on MySQL ODBC 8.0 ANSI Driver > Click Finish > Added: Data Source Name; TCP/IP Server; Port; User; Password; Database.

1.9.x is no longer supported.

osTicket does not need or use an ODBC connector it talks directly with the MySQL database.

I've never setup Tableau and know next to nothing about it, but I would think that it would need the ODBC connection [not osTicket]. The Tableau documentation that I read supports that.

For supported files and databases, Tableau provides built-in connectors that are built for and optimized for those types of data. If your file or database type is listed under Connect, use this named connector to connect to your data. If your file or database type is not listed, you might have the option of creating your own connection using Other Databases (ODBC) or Web Data Connector. Tableau provides limited support for connections that you create using either of these options.

Of course a look at the supported connectors tells me that MySQL is built into the product already.

So it seems that you do not need an ODBC connector at all.
