Hello i am using osticket v1.10.5 i have installed it on ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS web server is apache .I cannot receive an email confirmation when creating a user on user portal.Also after creating a ticket it doe not reflect on the admin panel.

    This sounds like you do not have access to the department/team that the ticket was created in. Or you opened it as a closed ticket and it is under Closed.

    Thank you i will check it.But a ticket was created on the support center where there is no department to select i will upload the screenshot.Adter successfully creating a ticket my understanding was i should see it on the Tickets tab as Open ticket so that i can assign it to my stuff.When i go to Users tab I see name of the user as Guest user with a small attachement showing that the user has a ticket but i cannot see it.below are the screenshots of what i have said.

      All tickets have a department or team. It is supplied via default Department or by the Help Topic chosen at creation.

      Your second screen shot shows the scp (staff side) and no tickets. You will not see any tickets if you do not have access to the department that the ticket is in. You will also not see any tickets on the open queue if they are closed.

      Default Department is set at Admin panel -> Settings -> System.
      Your accounts access is set at: Admin panel -> Agents -> Your account, click on the Access tab.

      Your last screen shot shows that both users have 1 ticket.

      Thank you very much for your help.I really I appreciate it.Default department was maintenance so i was able to access tickets created for support department.After changing the access to the department i was able to see the tickets I created.And For the users registration through the support center i was able to resolve it on the admin panel.

      So now i only have a problem of the emails.I want to users to received emails after creating tickets to receive emails showing that support team has received the ticket and they will get back to him as soon as tickets is resolved.And I want the users to create their accounts and receive a link via email to verify the account.

      In short i want to know how the osticket send and receive emails.I have seen the protocols but i am not sure how to set them.

      Adding a user just adds a guest user. Once you add the User if you register them it sends an email.

      osTicket can be configured a number of ways.

      For receiving email it can pick up email via POP or IMAP or direct Piping to the system.
      I would say that POP or IMAP is the most used, but thats more a speculation based on the number of posts I have seen regarding them vs people using piping.

      For sending email it uses SMTP, or PHP mail. I would guess that most people use SMTP these days but again that is my speculation.
