Space Used Increased After Deleting Most Tickets

Closed queue loads very slowly and often times out when loading. I decided to delete the majority of our tickets in the DB as most of them have attachments (also stored in the DB ). However, after deleting the tickets, the space used has actually increased. Has anyone encountered this before?

I went from having about 700 tickets down to having about 50 tickets.

osTicket won't actually purge attachment files until cron runs enough times (randomly, check bottom of class.cron.php).

You can setup a scheduled task to run your cron.
Here is a copy of our cronjob that runs.

This runs the cron every 5 mins.

Weird question, should I setup a cron job that points to the /include/class.cron.php file or the /api/cron.php file?

You should run /api/cron.php

this file calls api.cron.php which in turn calls the class.cron.php

I have this running every 5 minutes now but after having it run for about 12 hours the database size has not decreased. Anything else I should check on this?

I should also note that I have checked the logs in OST and I am seeing the cron job run every 5 minutes.

We run file purging every 10 Cron runs or so.

It could also be Database overheads!
Some databases retain the information for a specified period of time.
Be sure to check that you can run a DB cleanup within PHPMyAdmin to clear it out I believe.
