Enable en-GB Language

I'm using OSTicket 1.10.4 (MySQL 5.1.73, PHP 7.0.33) on SME Server 9.2 (based on CentOS 6.9). I want the en-GB language installed as it bugs me to see the language as English US. There isn't a phar file available for en-GB even though it's been translated 100% so I downloaded the zip file. I have extracted the zip and uploaded the folder to include/i18n where it sits next to the en-US folder. How do I get OSTicket to recognise that it's there?

You cannot just download the files from the translation project site. You would have to figure out how they are packaged. The only ones you can use are the ones from the osticket.com/download site.

The en-GB language is not on the osticket.com/download site yet, even though it's been 100% translated for 2 years. Though comparing the files with those in en_US, I'm not that impressed with the translation. Maybe I should get involved with the translation process... It just niggles me that I have to use US language pack in the UK.

Jimbode I went through all the strings for the en_GB language pack a while ago, as it bugged me that some possibly well-meaning-but-misguided person had just copied all the Americanised strings (so it still had "Organization", "Vacation", etc...) and submitted the correct version. There was also what looked like somebody falling asleep on their keyboard in place of "Knowledgebase".

It would probably help, if you haven't done so already, to go through and upvote the correct translations as the Americanised ones probably won't disappear easily!

We go through and update the language pack downloads almost every time we release a stable version of osTicket (the next one would be 1.11 stable). This update typically includes language packs that are 100% translated and not available for download yet.

Hi, You can build custom phar archive with localisation, and use it. I find help in next site, and is working correctly. I use for czech language.

Although i do have a question... what word do you use instead of vacation... holiday?
example: [US] I go on vacation later today.
would be: [GB] I go on holiday later today.

ntozier Yep, that's exactly it! We go on holiday, not vacation. I added a comment to that part explaining this too, as I realise it's not just a spelling change here ?

Okay one more curiosity question for you. If there was a Bank Holiday (say Boxing Day) or if you were taking off Bonfire Night do you still call it a Holiday?

Yeah, the same word applies to both situations. Generally any day off that would normally be a working day counts as holiday.

ntozier Thanks, always good to get these translations updated ? As a side note, while the English UK translation is at 100% translated, it's at 0% approved. I'm guessing I can't volunteer for approval tasks if I submitted a lot of the translations?

As long as things such as the original suggestion at https://crowdin.com/translate/osticket-official/148/enus-engb#2561 don't get through, I guess it's all good though ?
