It would be nice to be able to add custom statuses to osTicket.  We often used "Waiting on Parts" and "Waiting on Vendor" among others on our old help desk.  If this is already possible please let me know.

You can already do this.Go to: Admin panel -> Manage -> ListsClick on Ticket Statuses.
