Hi all,

i have installed 1.7 version (not upgraded). I configured SMTP connection adding SMTP host, SMTP port, authentication required NO (because my server IP has been whitelisted in SMTP server), and i checked "allow email header spoofing". Since i'm whitelisted i don't need to specify user and password.

PROBLEM is: i can send emails but it seems they are sent via phpmailer inside osticket and not through SMTP connection. I can see it in the email headers.

Any suggestion?

Do you think it's because i'm without user/pwd?

Do you think I should check or not "email spoofing"? what does it is?

Is there a mod I can use to force using SMTP for outgoing emails?

thanks

Fabrizio

Under each department make sure you specify the correct outgoing email. You can also specify default outgoing email in Admin Panel > Settings > Emails.

Hi Peter,

thanks for replying.

I already did all of these. Outgoing email works, but uses internal phpmailer and not the smtp I specified into the admin panel.

I have 1 department with correct default email associated; the same email is in settings --> email (it's the default system and the default outgoing email).

It seems like it didn't recognize i added smtp configuration.

Thanks for help.

Fabrizio

Admin Panel > Settings > Emails

Admin Panel > Settings > Emails

check Default Outgoing Email dropdown, it should show the email address (like my screenshot) not PHP Mail Function. Sorry for the small screenshot but this forum is a bit limited on attachments by dimension and file size. Hope this helps, I have 1.7.0 installed and working, already have received about 150 tickets since implementing in January 2013.
