Is it possible to implement Web Push Notification to osTicket?Does anybody already have this feature developed? It could be nice to get a push notification every time when content of Dashboard changes, let's say, when new ticket arrives to Open Tickets and then I would get nice pop-up notification in lower right corner of my monitor. In this way I could be notified about ticket arrival without looking to my e-mail client and when I'm working on other things, for example, comparing data in Excel.

But Outlook has this functionality built in... it pops up a thing and says "email from foo, blah blah blah".

Right, but it would be nice to have web push notification :)

examples:

  • it can be useful in case agents have tasks to do with date/time set and they get a web push notification
  • notification with conditionals (so you can filter notification: only for new ticket with high priority, etc)
  • new notification if a ticket/task is assigned to the team and/or to you as agent

Indeed I totally agree. I found OsTicket to be a great replacement for our company's webmail to manage everything in one system. So it's kind of limiting to have notifications only by email, when what I'm trying is to make it easier for the employees to just have a unique system for all communications within the company and with customers.
There must be something that better interacts with the agents for them to always be aware of new tasks/tickets, replays/activity etc.
Right now the tasks is much less obvious for them to notice they have pending tasks, not the same as with open tickets
