Hello,

I was searching for a good tool to start a translation for pt_BR and I've found poeditor.com.

It's a nice tool to manage multi language projects. I was reading their FAQ and I noticed that they do offer free plans for open source projects. So I created a project and asked to qualify as opensource and their staff accepted the request.

In my opinion, this would be a great tool for keep tracking of all the translated languages and also would be very easy to have more people translating.

At this moment there are only 2 languages on the project pt_BR (that i started translating yesterday - 21%) and de_DE (100% i guess) from the installation file.

If you do accept this idea, and there are more .po files already translated or in progress for other languages, I can import to the project.

If this is a good idea, I would also like to add Thane to the administrators or even transfer the ownership of the project at poeditor.com to osticket's team if required.

What do you think about this?

What is wrong with this file?

Check if your osticket is served with utf-8 encoding.

(i don't use php_gettext, because i don't find a version that works with php 5.3 on centos 5.6)

I've restarted apache & reset my web browser cache...

I've used testlang.php to determine my langage... I duplicate de_DE and de forders to fr_FR and fr... -> osticket still continue in english

I forced the langage in include/gettext-conf.php to de, de_DE, de-DE, ... -> osticket still continue in english

I've enabled warnings in main.inc.php -> no errors...

I've look to my apache log... -> no errors.

Anyone have a simple idea to test that getext work ?

I see that you have a synology, me too. Do you test your mod on it ?

If it's work, it will offer me the possibility to compare why it does not on my server...

Doesn't the included version of php_gettext work for you? Do you get any errors if you use php_gettext?

The gettext extension is picky about language codes. On linux systems it'll only work if you have the locale installed in your system. I've tested that on a Ubuntu server and the gettext extension would only work if i used 'de_DE.UTF8'. To list the locales i had to type 'locale -a'. That is why i preferred php_gettext. It isn't that restrictive with the language codes.

I see that you have a synology, me too. Do you test your mod on it ?
If it's work, it will offer me the possibility to compare why it does not on my server...

I have a DS 212+ with DSM 4.2-3211. The multilanguage mod does work on the DS, but only with php_gettext. I couldn't get it working with the gettext extension.

Vérifiez que le répertoire LC_MESSAGES existe dans fr_FR

Vérifiez que le fichier redirect contient fr_FR (et rien d'autre).

Essayez de renommer le répertoire fr_FR en fr-FR. Pour moi ça fonctionne.

Je tourne sous serveur Mandriva 10.2

Voici mes paramètres dans le fichier gettext-conf.php

Either i've misunderstood you or you've misunderstood me. To clarify, the followind things are needed for php_gettext to work:

gettext.inc

gettext.php

streams.php

Those are included in the .zip in the /include folder.

Also needed is the mbstring extension for php. I don't know of any other dependencies.

Yes, it is quite confusing with all the extensions, modules and interpreters out there.

When i say php_gettext i mean this project written by Steven Armstrong and Danilo Segan:

It is essentially a php based .mo file interpreter, with a few extras.

The only thing i need to do was to set $use_php_gettext to false in gettext-conf.php ...
It works now.

Probably some syntax error, try deleting some translations and checking if it works afterwards.

An en_en version makes no sense, as translating english to english is only eating resources. Check (http://thane.dyndns.org/osticket_mods/ml/translation_tutorial.htm) to see how to create a basic .po and translate it correctly.

if i start from en en ... meanwhile i translate i have a en it ... and not en / de /it

for people en mixed it is ok... but en mixed de mixed it is too difficult to understand ... you understand me?

I found (this link) with spanish translation but is not working at all. Maybe is a old translation.

Please let me know if there is a new translation to help with this.

At this moment i´m working on a new translation, the best way to do this is using launchpad i think. If none of the forums users says something about a functional translation i will start with this.

Any spanish guy to help me?

It looks like the osticketplus behind your link is a modified osticket v1.6. I'm pretty sure that that translation is incompatible with this mod.

Please let me know if there is a new translation to help with this.

I don't have any experience with launchpad. My mod is up on github as a fork of osticket ((https://github.com/thane-de-loth/osTicket-1.7))

Thank you for this great mod. But i have trouble with the charset. I use the german translation. The character ä,ü,ö,ß doesn't show correct an will be replaced with a "?".

When i edit the characterset info in all template header (header.inc.php) area to charset="windows-1252" and delete the .htaccess file it's all fine. But then are incoming mails looks bad.

What's wrong?

Umlaute werden nicht korrekt dargestellt. Alle Dateien wurden so belassen mit der UTF-8 Einstellung. Wenn in den Headerdateien auf charset="windows-1252" umgestellt werden, und die .htaccess mit der Charset Variable gelöscht wird, werden die Umlaute korrekt dargestellt. Dann jedoch stimmen die Umlaute in eingehenden Mails nicht mehr. Ich sitze seit Stunden an diesem Problem. Ich nutze übrigens nicht das Modul gettext, sondern die PHP Variante. Hat jemand eine Idee? :/
