Hi,getting error always "Can't connect to gmail-imap.l.google.com,993: Cannot assign requested address" while configuring e-mail id which I would like to use for fetching e-mails and generate tickets.I am using g-mail ID for this purpose. I have enabled IMAP settings on g-mail account as well.also enable to fetch e-mails in settings-->Email settingsPlease help me to resolve this issue.BR,MK

i also had this problem,my email settings in OST are as follows:hostname: imap.gmail.comport number: 993Mail Box Protocol: IMAP + SSLFetch Frequency: 5 minEmails Per Fetch: 30Fetched Emails: move to folder: osticketI also got a ssl and installed in on our website server. Not sure if this is required but i think i read somewhere this is required.(Ubuntu 14.04 using serverpilot as server management.)I also added this line in our servers cron job located in /etc/crontab (this is one line):*/5 * * * * nobody /usr/bin/php5.6-sp /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/NAME_OF_YOUR_WEBSITE_FOLDER/public/support/api/cron.phpThe first path is absolute path to your php, the second is absolute path to the cron.php file which is included in OST.If you use cpanel you can add this in the cron jobs maybe.hope this helps.

I'd suggest to try settings from the post above and additionally look at the following section of the wiki:http://osticket.com/wiki/Email_settings#Gmail_Configuration

I hosted on freehosting.com So I am not sure of how we can change their server setting ?Any other way to solve this problem ?

i never used freehosting, com before but on their website they say they use cpanel. Is there an icon that says "Cron" is cpanel? It might be disabled by some webhosts but this is where you can add the crobjob. If this is available, you will need to ask them the path to php and the path to your web folder. If they don't provide the "cron", you might need to look for alternative methods or a different web host.
