Hello all,I am running osTicket v1.8.0.2, since 4th February, so for almost 1 year now. After the initial installation everything ran and we never had a problem. Now, three days ago, without changing anything on the system, I (as administrator) started getting email alerts every 10 minutes with the following message:companynameThe supprising thing is that it still works. Email will still be fetched, support tickets are created and email notifications are sent.Still, I get this error/alert notification every 10 minutes.I have contacted 1and1, my web hosting/email provider, to ask if anything has changed on the mail server. But they claim that nothing has changed and just point to the recommended POP/IMAP settings which I am already using. I tried POP and IMAP, with and without SSL, but even without SSL enabled, I will still get the message with "SSL negotiation failed". And I cannot blame 1and1 because their settings are working, and even without SSL, osTicket keeps sending me this alert. Is there a known problem about this? What else can I do to analyze this problem? Is it recommended that I update my osTicket to the latest version?Thank you in advance!

It's doing exactly what it's supposed to do when a mail fetch times out.  If it was working before, and still works, then your email provider is just not responding within osTicket's timeout period.  Since it seems to fetch successfully, these errors may be due to excessive load on their network or server during these times. However, the fact that it seems to happen at the same interval is troubling.  What interval did you select for Mail Fetching in Admin | Emails for that account?Jack

As a side note, 1.8.x is kinda outdated and you should consider an upgrade to the latest version (currently 1.9.5.1). And yes I know that you shall "never touch a running system" But when it comes to osTicket it's definitely worth it ;)

14 days later

Thank you for the response. Now it is working fine again, and I haven't changed anything, so I think that the problem is really with the provider.Usually I fetched mails every minute, but when the problem started I have also tried 10 minutes and this did not help.I will also then upgrade the system in near future.

Very welcome and thanks for sharing your "solution" with us ;)

Hi, I also get a same problem. until now, I already receive 400++ mail fetch failure alert in my mailbox and keep coming for the third day. When I view the log, last alert is yesterday morning where I re-authenticate the email password. I already offline the system but email still coming.Any idea how to stop receive alert email??
