creation of new ticket causes 500 error

Just upgraded to the new 1.9.0 version and once logged into SCP and trying to create a new ticket it does this:* asks for user information (via popup window)* accepts user information* goes to enter ticket information* click on "open" and gives a 500 error and blank white screen (trying to call ticket.php?a=open)any thoughts on a fix for this?

Please consult your PHP error logs and see if there are any errors logged there. They should help us track down the problem. You might also consult your access logs and see what the webbrowser thinks is going on.Are you running the LDAP plugin?

Just tried it again and then checked the error log - there is no entry for it at all. I then checked the access log and this is the only entry found ": - - "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -: - - "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -"We don't have any plugins installed. This is a bare bones installation.

Like I said previously, no plugs or anything extra. This is the original, bare-bones, installation of osTicket.

Have upgraded to version 1.9.1 and this issue still persists (despite all other issues having been fixed). Is there NO suggestions on how to fix this so we can use osTicket again?!?!?Also, when looking in the error logs, this is the only error being reported: "PHP Fatal error: Class 'Phar' not found in /home/nrthwind/public_html/support/include/class.i18n.php on line 309"

Now that is an error that I can work with. This error happens when the Phar extension is not enabled/installed.In windows you can edit your PHP settings (php.ini) and enable the phar extension by adding:extension=php_phar.dllIn Linux you can simply install the php5_phar package.You may need to associate the .phar extension with PHP in your webserver alsoin Apache it would be like: AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .pharin IIS you would do this the same way that you added the .php extension originally.Are you running suhosin? If so you will need to add this to your php.ini to allow execution of PHAR files.suhosin.executor.include.whitelist="phar"As always you must completely stop/start the webserver software after making edits to the php.ini.

so I installed that and added the Apache line you spoke of above. But now when I go to the support URL it wants to download the file rather than open it. :/

The Phar extension is built into PHP starting with version 5.3.0.I do not see a PEAR explicit version of Phar on their package list.http://pear.php.net/packages.php

We are using version 5.4.22 of PHP, so if it's built-in then I should not need to add the package?
