I know a future version of OsTicket will suport localization and I was waiting for the update to support it, but it's taking too long (for my imediate needs), so I need to ask:What I need to do to get OsTicket 1.8 in my own language? There is a file I can translate or do I need to edit all the php files that has text inside it?Thank you
At this point I believe that you have to edit everything. (the .php and the database)1.8.1 has some of the translations in place currently, its phase 1.

I wouldn't recommend running beta software on a production site.You can download it from github or from http://osticket.com/download-edgenote: you would want to grab the language files you want from there also.

I already upgraded it to 1.8.1. (Will delete the 1.8 folder so).I'm searching hard on the Wiki and this Forum, but just can't find what to do with the pt_BR.phar file and how to use it within osTicket. I just found it is a PHP Archive (analog to JAR), and found php examples on how to use it, but nothing related to osTicket. Do I need to require it by hand on some osticket php file maybe?Any chance you have the link to the right place?Cheers

I had already put it there, but nothing changed! There is some option hidden somewhere to "activate" it or force it as default?** Just found an options inside "My Preferences" but everything is stil in english. And I still need to find out where to set it globally.
There is no way to set it globally at this time other than if you install the language file before running the installer. Then I think that it lets you pick a default language.That settings may be put in the /include/ost-config.php or it may be stored in the ost_config table in the database. I do know that other than staff account My Prefs it hasn't really made it into the ui yet.
Man... I reinstalled it with another table prefix (I was needing to test it too) and got kind off dissapointed with this translation. I know it is not ready yet, but it translated 0% of the interface, as far as I can see. Only the email templates get translated.I really don't like the idea of translate the hard coded strings, but maybe I find myself with no alternatives. And that makes me think: Why, why Mr. Anderson, why the 1.8 version was not multi language from the start? :)Cheers
