Hi Guys,

some of you have probably seen my new CSS design for osTicket, with a few other options/mods installed too...

I've repackaged it and set it to 1.7 RC.

its a 500kb zip file and the forum will not allow me to upload it... :(

While I appreciate what you are trying to do here I feel the need to point out that there are a lot of folks that are already using heavily modded implementations and you would better serve both them and the community by making an actual mod for your css theme. If they run this "complete release" that you have made it will break their sites horribly and they will need to re-apply all the mods that they have already implemented.

its not possible to add as a mod as there are some quite big changes to the pages to achieve the layout that I have generated. Its not quite a MOD but also not quite a new version, i am adding in a lot of the popular MODs included on the forum into the system, along with the option to enable/disable them.

Also I have not advertised it as a stable release for upgrade, and wouldn't recommend it unless you are running a basic 1.6ST install anyway.

Although having said that, if you download the files and then run a delta comparison of the php files between an existing site and the 1.7RC it should be simple enough to migrate any existing mods...

Or if you just want the css... download the folder, extract the css file and copy into the styles & css folders, make sure its called in the headers and it should improve the osTIcket view but it will not be the same as the 1.7RC.

Well, to be honest: nice work done!

And - from my point of view - an improvement.

Maybe it will break some installations, but nobody has to use it.

But for a new installation it is a great start.

The whole team of osTicket had all the time to go ahead - but I cannot see any new version.

Instead the current 1.6_ST release is that of outdated that I have started by my one a new version.

Main changes:

* Mulitlanguage

* php.5 only

* no more short_open_tags anymore

* account based tickets

* SMS notification

* Credit system (can be used for paid tickets/support)

* several mods already embedded (the ones of hotwired007 too)

Basically I have reworked all files of the existing 1.6._ST and I am going to release it as a fork (but this is not a requirement).

Of course the core team of osTicket can get it and use it - or go on their own way.

I am open for any input and discussion about forking and/or improvements.

hotwired007 version has 'only' a new design (nevertheless a good work).

The version with multilanguage is from me and will be published in a few days (with hotwirded007 design which I find useful and much more modern then the original).

Sorry for the confusion ... but I am sure that the version with multilanguage will fit many needs.

One final note: all language vars are in seperate files.

Therefore any translation can be made very quick and easily.

The package will come with German and English as default.

Simply translate for example the english files into your desired language - rename the folder into your language (e.g. fr-FR, it-IT, es-ES or es-MX etc.) ... viola you can operate the ticket system in your language (beside the 2 standard).

If you do not need them (or one of them) just disable them.

The version can have as many languages enabled as you need.

Clients can choose at every step which language they want to have.

Admins (staff) also.

A few things have to be done for the backend, but frontend (the most important I think) is completely ready.

What kind of messages are being sent? have you changed the email addresses in the config? you might be getting system failures as the emails that its trying to send out are not a vaild email address...

Why should a system modified only with CSS sending spam emails?

Sounds more that you have made an error somewhere?

A bit more specific would not be bad to invastigate more in this.
