Hi ladyAnne,
Please make sure you have already done the instruction number 7. That part has the purpose to modify the \include\staff\template.inc.php file, so you will see the "Forgot Ticket Number" section from your Admin Panel -> Emails -> Templates.
About the instruction "Before implementing this modification in your osTicket system", it has the meaning: before you start to implement it in your osTicket operational (day-to-day), you have to define the email template regarding this new Forgot Ticket Number feature, so your system will be able to send email to your client/customer. Sorry for this misunderstanding.

By any chance is there a way to style to single tickets that appear in the email as a single row? and or add a date to each? or maybe i'm just over my head now.

DB Error

I was doing some testing ....

I went to *forgot your ticket*

and instead of putting in an email address.... i just clicked on the submit button.

I ended up getting an email from store to the owner with these details.

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

Can someone please tell me what i've done wrong and how i can fix this.

Hi ladyAnne,

After investigating your case by searching the "DELETE FROM" phrase through the php files in osTicket, I did not find the related code to the Forgot Ticket Number MOD.

That SQL code exists only in this file: include\class.ticket.php:

if(db_query('DELETE FROM '.TICKET_TABLE.' WHERE ticket_id='.$this->getId()) && db_affected_rows()):

Sorry, I have no idea how to fix your problem since this code has no relationship at all with the Forgot Ticket Number MOD. Perhaps anyone else know about that problem? Thanks.

Well after giving it much thought.... what are the odds of someone not adding in their email addy? as this is the request for forgetting a ticket?

I guess its not such a problem after all! LOL

great mod but i need to do some clean up of the new status page format, since we now have the forgot ticket routine there is not need to have this read the way it does... but i have looked all over and cant find where this is coded at so i can change it... does anyone know what file this is located in..

the text reads as follows:

To view the status of a ticket, provide us with your login details below.

If this is your first time contacting us or you've lost the ticket ID, please click here to open a new ticket.

that text is on the ticket status page but i cant track it down... i want to reword it. but cant find the file...

UPDATE; nevermind i found it, its in the include/client/login.inc.php file.... thanks

I am having the problem with saving the template.

I have read all of the above and checked I have everything in the right place but still no joy.

I have noticed in phpmyadmin that the two new tables are empty at present, is this correct?

Can you shed any light on my problem?

If I can't fix it I will have to remove it all :(

getting same white screen as Steve

Very appreciative of this Mod...I did follow all the steps, then noticed at the end that I was suppose to define the e-mail template...When I tried to do this, after I clicked "Add", I got a blank page and could not define any variables...I tried reruning the MySql Script but I got the message that those fields already exist...I am a little stuck as to what to do...I am running the newest version of OSTicket as I just downloaded it...please help!! thank you so much!!

I am new to OS tickets and thought I was over my head as it just didn't make sense to me. Finally started to sink in and this mod is the first one I attempted. All went well until I got to the end. it wouldn't let me save the template when trying to add - Subject = Forgot Ticket Number

Message Body = %name,

This is the list of your tickets:

%ticketlist

I ended up going back into the php table and adding it straight to the database and it saved there. This is great. Thank you. Now I'll see what I will try next.

Would be cool if the ticket subject will be included as well.

Not every customer knows which support ticket belongs to which ID.

So the forgot ticket email will looks like this:

This is the list of your open tickets:

%ticketid - %ticketsubject

This is the list of your closed tickets:

%ticketidclosed - %ticketsubjectclosed

Since I'm a total n00b with php I can't code this myself.
