[MOD] Forgot Ticket Number

I made a modification in order client are able to get their ticket number list. Just in case if client forgot their ticket number, without having to re-open a new ticket.

Forgot Ticket Number? appears beneath the Check Status button on index.php page.

Client only need to enter email address and press the Send My Ticket List button, then osTicket will send the ticket number list to the client who request it.

The message after osTicket send email to the client. It also will verify whether the email exists in the system or not. If the email does not exist, there will be message notify client that the email address does not exist in the system.

Email that received by client, only contains of the ticket number which has status as "opened". Admin can define the email template (see part 2 at my second post below)

As Admin, you are able to define the email template that will be used, from Admin Panel -> Emails -> Templates -> osTicket Default Template -> Forgot Ticket Number.

I combined the Check Status Ticket Form with Forgot Ticket Number Form in one page. It depends on which menu that client select, then the other will be collapsed. At the image above, client are selecting Check Status menu, then Forgot Ticket Number section will be collapsed, and vice-versa.

Sorry, I have no idea about the last thing happened to you. Have you checked the setting regarding this from your admin panel?

If you don't mind, please open new thread regarding this if your last case does not have the relationship between this modification.

The only thing that would be nice is if you could provide a list of closed tickets as well, so users can search through them too.

Displaying the forgot closed ticket number

Here is the solution to display the forgot ticket number including the ticket which have closed status:

I am trying to follow the instructions on

BUT I doo not have a table called "ost_email_template " in my php admin for osTickets.

I have v1.6 RC5.

Do you have any suggestions?

"ost_email_template" is the default name for email template table. I used the default table prefix (ost_), so the name become: "ost_email_template".

It could be different with yours. The table prefix depends on the one you enter when you installed for the very first time. For example, your prefix table is "myot_", then your email template table will become "myot_email_template".

Does it make sense for you?

Unfortunately i'm having some problemos!

I'm a little stuck in part 2.

I've done all the changes, but when i log into admin > emails > templates

I do not see the *Forgot your Ticket* section!

Also in the instructions it says 'Before implementing this modification in your osTicket system'

Ummm, i missed that part! and i did it after applying the modification,, how can i go about fixing this please.

am i not reading the instructions correctly? am i suppose to create a *new template that says 'Forgotten Ticket and add the variables you had? ie.

Subject = Forgot Ticket Number

Message Body = %name,

This is the list of your tickets:

%ticketlist

Hi ladyAnne,

Please make sure you have already done the instruction number 7. That part has the purpose to modify the \include\staff\template.inc.php file, so you will see the "Forgot Ticket Number" section from your Admin Panel -> Emails -> Templates.

About the instruction "Before implementing this modification in your osTicket system", it has the meaning: before you start to implement it in your osTicket operational (day-to-day), you have to define the email template regarding this new Forgot Ticket Number feature, so your system will be able to send email to your client/customer. Sorry for this misunderstanding.
