Hello,

In osTicket, the ticket thread allows both users and agents/staff to post updates using canned responses or regular messages. However, every time a new post is made, the other party has to manually refresh the page or ticket to see the latest update.

Is there a way to make the thread update in real time, similar to a live chat feature?

  • Can this be achieved through configuration or customization?
  • Are there any existing plugins available that enable real-time updates?

Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    That is not a feature of osTicket at this time; otherwise it’d already be available! You’d have to modify the codebase to accomplish what you are looking for. When modifying the codebase you are always on your own as you are deviating from core. The code is open source and publicly available on GitHub. You will proceed at your own risk. Good luck!

    With this being said v2.0 will make such a feature possible so stay tuned!
