DB Error #1142

Since yesterday night we received the following mail with a DB Error #1142 :

And since, we can't log in to the backoffice and also to the main page to post a ticket.

Do you know what is the problem ?

The error clearly states:

INSERT command denied to user 'helpteteietetena'@'ipv4_addr' for table 'ost_session'

This means the user helpteteietetena does not have the needed privileges to INSERT data into the database. This means you are either using wrong db user or something along those lines. Make sure you are using the correct user. If so then ensure you gave the needed permissions in MySQL to be able to read/write from the database.

Hello,

As I know, there is no user "helpteteietetena". We tried to log in with differents users and we can't.
As soon as we try to log in, it immediately returns to the log in page without error.

Is it possible that the DB is corrupt ?

The user it’s complaining about is the user attempting to access the database; not the agent/user logging into the system. This username is configured in your include/ost-config.php file generated during installation. You should review the information in this file to ensure it’s correct.

Hi,

I created a new DB on the server (hosted) with more space and duplicate the previous DB because the problem is the database is full.

So now I can connect to the new DB and I can see that the size of the table ost_file_chunk is 1Gb

So I installed the plugin Attachments on the file system and configured it.
It works for the new attachment files.

Now I would like to migrate all the old attachments files to this new configuration.

I found that we can use the following command :
php manage.php file migrate --backend D --to F

But I don’t know how I can use this command.

The DB is hosted on a OVH server, so I think I can’t.

Is there any other possibilities to use this « migrate » functionality ?

You would need SSH access to the server to run that command via the server's CLI. You would need to run that command from within the osTicket directory on the server; or you will need to replace the manage.php part with the full path to that file (within the osTicket directory on the server).

If you don't have SSH access or access to run commands via the server's CLI then you'd need to modify the code and add the file migration as part of cron or something.
