Hello,
I'm new to OS Ticket and want to use it for our internal small team. Basically I want to assign small works /tasks to our team members via tickets.

Problems I'm facing :
Whenever I'm trying to create a ticket is is forcefully asking me to select "User"
I don't have any user and I don't want to create user, the tickets will be created and assigned to another staff. I went through all admin pages but could not find any option to disable that field or make it optional.
I even spent hours searching online for the same but with no luck.

I saw the below discussion but there are no mention on how to make user field optional.
https://forum.osticket.com/d/77139-considering-osticket-for-internal-use-only/8

Can someone guide me how can I make the user field optional when creating ticket?

Tickets belong to Users and there I no way to change this. This is the basis of the software. If you want it to behave any other way you will need to modify the codebase. When modifying the codebase you are always on your own as you are deviating from core. The code is open source and publicly available on GitHub where they have a search tool, a code tree feature, and even a code references feature. Good luck!

    Cheers.

I agree but how do people use it for Staff Only Mode ? What do they fill on "User" field when creating ticket?
Assuming I don't want to modify the source code.

Use their Agent/personal email to create a User account so they can create Tickets using their User. Otherwise you can create a fake User with a fake email and simply create all Tickets using that User.

        Cheers.
