When creating a new ticket using the web interface there is a large pause after hitting submit where osTicket is sending out the emails to the team. Is there a way to background the sending of the emails and not wait for them to be sent?

Not at this time but this is something we are implementing in v2.0 (ie. a Mail Queue) so stay tuned!

2.0 has been in the works for a while, are you getting close to a release candidate?
Of course it has been a while..it's a monolithic software with so many moving parts. Yes, we are getting closer and closer with each passing moment. We plan to have one 2025 so stay tuned!
