Sounds like you need to use an Advanced Search instead. Click Advanced next to the search bar and you can add the custom field and search for whatever criteria that's available for that field type.

KevinTheJedi not specifically, that is, advanced searches can be with a specific value or a group of values, I only need that when I enter the value of the form field it returns the ticket that contains this value in its content.

I read somewhere that I had to edit the "find" function within the osticket code so that it also uses that criterion to perform a search

That’s what advanced search does? Simply select one field and add the criteria you want it it will only show tickets with those fields set and have the specific criteria you searched for.

I mean so that you understand me better, I have a form called "Device" inside I have a field called "CP" that field per ticket has different and unique values, I want that when I make a query of some random value of those that it may contain a ticket, bring me the ticket that has that value in that field of that form.

It is not so much filters to search for group of records.

That’s exactly what the advanced search does. Use the “equals” or “contains” option and you can supply a specific value.

Is there a way that when I do the manual search in the search engine and enter the value, it brings me the ticket? As if it were by default? I tried the advanced search and it did bring me the record I wanted to search for, but since it is something that is done very often with different values, this process is a little slower.

So you’re now asking if there is a way to type the custom field value in the Quick Search bar you want the ticket to appear? If so that is not an option at this time. The quick search only searches for ticket numbers, user names/emails, ticket subjects, and thread entries.
