Slow to close tickets

I have osticket v1.18 and users belonging to a certain department and work team report that they have problems with slowness when closing tickets.
Logs were reviewed on our platform and the following events were displayed:

Mailer error- DB Error #1062
Your support with this slowness problem and whether these events have anything to do with it

Seems like you’re having outbound email issues. Do you have SMTP configured for outgoing mail? If so it’s failing and trying to use sendmail as a backup. If you don't have SMTP setup then it’s attempting to send mail via sendmail and it’s not configured correctly in your PHP.ini file. The error is saying the system cannot connect to a mail server at localhost on port 2531.

KevinTheJedi This is my php.ini file, I see that the port is configured correctly, could I be missing some parameter? Or what else could be linked to the problem?

Do you actually have a running mailserver at localhost on port 2531? If not then that's your issue. You'd need to connect to a running mailserver in order to send out SMTP. You can setup a local mailserver using something like postfix, etc.
