Phone Number format

I want my phone number under user Directory>Phone Number to be in either of these format (XXX) -XXX-XXXX or XXX-XXX-XXXX, I did change from admin panel its type from phone number to Short answer, but I am not sure doing this would affect how many files in the osticket. Could anyone please help??

For a Phone Number type field you can only do US Display format or display them unformatted (as-entered). You can force a specific format by changing it from a Phone Number type to a Short Answer, set the Validator to Regex, and add your own custom Regex that covers the format you want. You can even add a custom validation error message to the field that tells them they used the wrong format and it needs to be in insert_format_name format.

How to display them as-entered. Like if I am entering like this XXX-XXX-XXXX, however, in user directory when I am refreshing and opening it is getting changed to XXXXXXXXXX.

Go to Admin Panel > Manage > Forms > Contact Information Form, find the Phone Number field, click Config, set the Display Format to Unformatted, and click Save.

It would only affect the form under user directory or may impact somewhere else as well?

Since you are editing the Contact Information Form Phone Number field it would only affect the Contact Information Form Phone Number field.

Ok, means wherever I am using that form, it will change. Got it. Is it possible to know where I am using that form?

Anywhere that displays User profile information. User Directory, User Profile, User Information from the Ticket Header, etc.
