Problems with migrating to new server.

Hi good day
Trying to migrate osticket to a new server from
V. osTicket v1.17.2 -- Apache/2.4.51 -- MySQL 5.7.36 -- PHP 8.0.13
to
V. osTicket v1.18.1 -- Apache/2.4.58 -- MySQl 10.4.32 -- PHP 8.2.12
both in windows server.

While the old server is still running, we are testing with the new one but I dont know how the new server is "creating" old tickets from a year ago in the old server. I need this to stop but its hard to experiment while the new server is bothering the staff.

And the new server was also spamming mails to the staff (I was able to stop this). I think this is caused by this in the image but I dont know how to stop it

Do you have one or more System Emails configured for fetching (Admin Panel > Emails > Emails)? If so the system might be polling the mailbox to create Tickets. If so, you'd need to disable fetching globally (Admin Panel > Emails > Settings).

I deleted every email from the database trying to stop the spam, but it didnt work. I will try both your ideas but I am getting emails even after shutting down xampp ( yeah i dont know it doesnt make any sense ).

Maybe the emails you are receiving after the shut down are simply queued. Like they were sent before but it was such an influx that they are all queued and still sending.

KevinTheJedi do you have any idea of how to stop the emails without starting apache ?

Emails only send when something triggers them. So if the system is offline, Apache is disabled, and email fetching is disabled then it sounds like either you have a cron job running or the emails are already sent just queued on your mail server.

KevinTheJedi yeah i was talking about disabling the fetching without apache up, like in the files ( php.ini some-config-file.php )

Oh, I gotcha now. You can login to the database, go to the _config table, search for where key equals enable_mail_polling, set the value to 0, search for where key equals enable_auto_cron, and set the value to 0. This disables both cron fetching and auto-cron fetching. You can also search for where key equals isonline and set the value to 0 to disable the help desk to be 100% sure.

At the end of the day I still need this new test server to be the official one, will see if i can find the reason behind the mail problem.
