OAuth2 with Microsoft Could not read from smtp.office365.com

Are there bugs in OAuth? After configuring imap, I can get emails, but I keep getting errors when configuring to send. I tried version 1.17.5 and 1.18.1, but the same error occurred.

I’ve never seen that error before. Are you using a shared host or hosting provider? If so ask if they are blocking external SMTP.

If you own the server ensure you can Telnet to that host and port from the server's cli.

Did you ensure you have SMTP enabled for the account in the exchange admin center?

I use an independent VM host. The system is Ubuntu22.04. The local telnet smtp.office365.com port 587 is normal. This smtp account was used normally before.

I built two osticket sites, one 1.17.5 and one 1.18.1. When configuring Office 365 on both sites, the same problem occurred. I can receive but cannot send.

Do you have "Authenticated SMTP" enabled for the email account in office365?

Then I would suggest looking at your O365 mail logs to see if it’s hitting O365 at all. If not then you know the host and port is likely blocked, etc. on your sever.
